Where to buy blue contacts?

If you do want to try blue contacts to change your eye color, you might have a few basic questions regarding them before you actually commit to buying or wearing them.

Here we will go over some of the more popular concerns about blue contacts so you can hopefully have your questions answered. If you have any specific questions you could contact us directly, or contact your doctor or eye care specialist.

Will blue contacts work on darker eyes?

They won’t work as well as lighter eyes, but you can still have dark brown eyes and have them turned blue, you just need to make sure you are buying the right style and type for your specific color.

Depending on where you buy your blue contacts from, you will usually be able to find a FAQ regarding them, and the question on whether or not they will work on dark eyes is usually pretty high on the list.

Usually, if it’s just a light tint of blue, it won’t make a big enough difference on dark eyes, so you usually want to go with the most tint possible.

Many people with dark eyes decide to go with the more theatrical types of blue contacts which don’t just tint, but cover your eyes regardless of color. These definitely work the best, but don’t look as natural as a lot of people would like.

It really depends if you want to change your eye color for every day use, or more of something like a Halloween or costume party.

Can I sleep in my blue contacts?

It can depend on the type you buy. Many people who currently wear contacts have extended wear, which they say you can sleep in without any concerns. There are some who still don’t recommend it and I’ve read studies that say long contact wear can cause some issues.

If you have blue contacts for every day use, you can find them in prescription extended-wear and there should technically be no reason you can’t sleep in them, but you should make sure first, by asking your doctor or eye care specialist just to be safe. If you end up buying contacts that are colored blue, for theatrical or costume purposes these almost definitely will not be okay to sleep in.

You will not usually want to wear them longer than a few hours, and you should also make sure you take good care of them by using the proper handling, and after use storage and cleaning, etc.

How long can I wear my blue contacts?

As I stated in the previous paragraph, you won’t usually want to wear them longer than a few hours. This will definitely vary from contact to contact, manufacturer, etc, but as a basic amount of time, a few hours is a good estimate.

It of course does matter what type of blue contacts you have. If you are using standard tinted blue, but everything else about the contacts is normal, then you can wear them as long as you could normal contacts. The same goes for all styles such as Vampire Contact Lenses.

If you are buying some funky Halloween blue contacts, then those are the type you should wear for one night, and not for long periods. As always, consult your physican before you make any decisions, because the health of your eyes is not something that you should take lightly.
